Technical excursions

The organising committee has made a preselection of possible technical excursions that may be of interest to the ISAA 2010 symposium participants. The definitive excursions programme will depend on the number of symposium delegates.  In spring 2010 the organising committee will make a definitive selection.

 

Possible technical excursions

Adjuvant demonstration/performance trials at experimental station of Saaten-Union in Moosburg + Bavarian Brotzeit (snack) at Schloßbrauerei Grünbach. The website of this castle brewery is only in German.

Hop garden Hallertau – the biggest hop-planting area in the world. Learn about hop growing and harvest as well as about current hop research, and enjoy a guided tour in the German Hop museum Wolnzach + Bavarian Brotzeit (snack). Photographs: see Virtual tours in right column of this page.

Lechler nozzles and spray technology (R&D and production facility). Learn the expertise in spray technology at a leading maker of precision spray nozzles and demisters + Bavarian Brotzeit (snack). This is followed by another social event: the visit of the winegrowing museum "Weinbaumuseum Metzingen". The website of this museum is only in German.

Saaten-Union – a seed breeder offering varieties of nearly all agricultural species in Europe. Informs about extensive breeding programmes and testing facilities of the company. The excursion leads to the experimental station of Saaten Union at Moosburg.

Center of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan of the Technical University of Munich. Informative tour across campus with visit of some institutes and ending at the oldest brewing site of the world (technology).
