Poster guidelines

The instructions for poster contributions and poster display guidelines are provided below.  These Poster Guidelines for ISAA 2010 must be adhered to. If necessary, you can contact Marc Bonnet or Peter Baur for further details or clarification.

The posters are not intended as commercial sites. Thus, posters must be of a scientific format and attitude. The Program Committee recognizes that commercial adjuvant products must be evaluated and results from these trials presented in a scientific manner.  However, the posters must not be used to simply advertise the product.  Scientific results must be demonstrated for all posters. Copies of the poster are allowed as handouts. Distribution of commercial documentation is not allowed.

Size

The tackboard surface available for mounting posters for ISAA 2010 is 106 cm (42 inches) in height by 152 cm (60 inches) in width.  The lay-out will be “landscape”.  Pushpins for mounting posters on the tackboards will be provided at the conference in the poster room during poster set-up.

Text
Use 30 to 36 pt Times New Roman Bold for section headings.  CAPITALIZE sections headings. Use 24 to 30 pt Times New Roman for regular text.  When previewing your poster, use a distance of approximately 1.8 m (6 feet) to estimate the viewing distance for readability.  Posters are expected to conform to the ISAA Society's objective of providing a non-commercial, scientific platform for the exchange of information and ideas regarding the development, testing and application of adjuvants for agrochemicals and related topics.  Thus, the use of product logos or commercial trade names is discouraged.  If absolutely necessary, trade names may be cited at first mention for reference.

Sections
The poster should preferably contain section headings similar to those used in the manuscripts: Summary, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, References. In addition, the Ojective should be clearly stated and can be identified with a section heading entitled Objective.

Tables and figures
Tables and figures must be large enough to be viewed readily at a distance of 1.8 m (6 feet). Whenever possible, use a line spacing of 1.5 (line and a half) or 2 (double spacing) in tables to improve readability. Color can be used in figures. Use a line thickness of 1/16 inches on figures. Include a legend for all figures.

Preparation of abstracts

Separate one page abstracts are required for inclusion in the hard copy Book of Abstracts which will be supplied to all attendees at the Symposium. The maximum one page length will be strictly adhered to for all submissions, whether invited, contributed, papers or posters.  Abstracts should concisely summarise the full paper or poster. The abstract should begin with the title, author(s), and author(s) affiliation as described above for the posters. If headings are used within the abstract body then they should be in 12 Pt Times New Roman bold, with the initial letter of each word in capital, and aligned against the left-hand margin. Abstracts should use 1.0 inch margins on 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper with a minimum 10 point font size in Arial font type. Tables, figures or photos may be included within the one page limit, but excellence in presentation is essential. They should reproduce well in black and white.
